Our Funny Little Valentine!

This year was lots of fun to celebrate Valentines day. Sophie had a lot of fun making her valentine's and eating all the yummy treats that go along with this lovely holiday. This was Sophie after playschool last Thursday. She made me a valentine and some cookies. The heart is made from her hands (outside edge). Thanks to Kristin who was patient enough to allow 4 little girls to chance to make thier mommies a valentine.
This was a picture taken on Valentines night before our fun date. We went to the church for a dinner, conference, and dance. It was a lot of fun. Last but not least...Travis is the greatest husband and daddy in the world. While I was gone Saturday morning he took care of Sophie along with two other little girls. I called him on the way home and he said he was babysitting our neighbor's little girl while the dad was on his way home from work and he was watching a friend of ours from church little girl. Sophie was having so much fun with 2 friends over. As I drove home I thought to myself there are not very many dads/husbands who would be willing to spend thier Saturday morning babysitting, especially more than their own kid. It is moments like that, I realize how lucky I am to be married to such a special person. So, just when Travis couldn't get any higher on my favorite person list...I walked in the door and found 3 little girls having lunch at the table with him opening the refridgerator door to show me the big pan of chocolate covered strawberries he had made me along with a homemade card with Sophie's kisses all over it. (Daddy let her put lipstick on!). Isn't he the best daddy and husband ever.

Cake, Elmo, and Laptop

Goodbye my friend...I mean laptop!
So, we've been very busy spring cleaning or "nesting" as Travis would say. We turned the office into a nursery. Nearly 4 bags of garbage and a trunk full of goodwill donations we are pretty close to having our house back to normal. Its amazing how much we've collected in 4 short years. Unfortunately during this time of cleaning we came across my laptop from college. This computer was like my best friend during my college years. It broke my 2nd year of my masters program and hasn't worked since. However, I couldn't bare the thought of getting rid of it. Well I'm sad to say that its going to be destroyed and thrown away. I am so sad, its like a part of me will be missing :) But, I can't keep everything. Especially if its broken. It served me well! RIP laptop!
ELMO our newest addition!
Sophie doesn't really care much about dolls but she sure loves her ELMO's. I'll tell her to take her baby for a walk in her stroller and she'll run and throw the baby out to make room for ELMO. She loves to put diapers on ELMO, rock Elmo to sleep and feed him food. I was kind of sad at first when she fell in love with ELMO, I wanted her to at least like the Pink Sesame Street character, Abby Cadabie, but nope she LOVES Elmo. I have grown to love the little character myself, only because I see how much joy he brings to Sophie. Isn't she such a great mommy to ELMO?
FUN TOOTH CAKE
This is a picture of my latest cake frenzy. I had so much fun making this cake. It was a lot of work but in the end I thought it turned out pretty cute. This MOLAR cake was half white cake and half swiss chocolate cake. The whole cake was 'star tipped' which took forever. Thanks to my sweet husband he helped me finish the cake by 2 am. This was a special ordered cake, so I hope it tasted okay! :)

Super Fun Saturday!

Radio Disney 3rd Annual Buckaroo Breakfast We had so much fun at the buckaroo breakfast. Radio Disney hosted the fun event with lots of food, prizes, and fun music. Sophie loved the Radio Disney dancers and of course her balloons! We spend the morning with the Marelli family.
CHUCK-E-CHEESE BIRTHDAY PARTY
Then that night Sophie went to a birthday party at Chuck-E-Cheese. Her little friend Kyren from the gym turned 2. Sophie had soooo much fun. The theme was ELMO, which is Sophie's favorite right now. I think we'll be having a ELMO party as well. It was fun to watch her play with the other kids. She loved to dance in front of the camera and see herself on the bigscreen.
DANCING FUN!
Sophie loved eating Kyren's ELMO cake. She had 2 pieces.
Sophie snuck away....to take a present from another person's birthday party! I thought she was going to see Chuck-E-Cheese himself...but no, she was going to someone else's party to take a present.

MISS AMERICA

So my friend Abbey who is dental school with Travis had a Miss America Pageant party Saturday night. To get in the spirit of the pageant I made a Miss Texas cake. Sophie was a huge help in making it...well eating the icing! The party was so much fun. I feel super bad because I didn't get a picture of everyone who was there. I met some fun new friends. Miss Indiana won...cute girl, but awful evening gown. It looked like something Dolly Parton would wear. The food at the party was delicious! I guess everything is delicious when you are pregnant in your 3rd Trimester. There were even cookies the shape of Tiara's. Super Yummy! Fun Girls Night!

FUN WEEKENDS

We started our New Year off with a little get together with the Marelli family. Marco and Sophie exchanged gifts and had a blast playing with each other.

Then the following weekend Travis and I swapped kiddos with our friends from church so we could have a night out alone! We went to the San Antonio Rampage hockey game. Texas Dental Association had reserved two boxes at the ATT center for the Senior students. There was amazing food and such a fun atmosphere. We had so much fun on our date!
Then the next weekend we spent most of Saturday raking leaves. Sophie had so much fun helping. (She helped us spread the leaves around the lawn after we put it in a pile) So not much of a help, but hey she had so much fun.

On Monday we spent the evening down at the park in our neighborhood. Isn't San Antonio winter weather amazing!!!! We were all wearing shorts! Not to make my family in Utah jealous or anything! Sophie loves the park she could play there alllll day!

Christmas On New Years in Texas

Since we didn't want to have to pack all our presents to Utah, we decided to celebrate 'our family' Christmas in Texas on New Years. It was so much fun, it felt like Christmas all over again. We got home from Utah on New Years Eve...so we quickly went to Wal-Mart and bought stocking Stuffers. Then on New years morning we had our fun little Christmas. Sophie loved it! I loved it! Daddy loved it! She was once again spoiled but isn't that what Santa does best?
