Santa Clause not a huge hit!

Sophie has been so excited about Christmas lights, the advent calendar, her fisher price nativity set, and Santa. So, on Saturday I took her to sit on Santa's lap....and well....she wasn't too thrilled about the idea of sitting on his lap. On the way there I would say, "Do you want to sit on Santa's lap?" her reply "yah!" Then I told her to tell him she wanted a Elmo doll. She would say "Santa Elmo". So, being the first time I have taken a child to see Santa I was super excited to capture that cute smiling kid sitting on this lap! However, we never got that picture....she wouldn't let me put her down! So here we are together with Santa! She did tell him "ELMO"!
On Thursday evening our Relief Society went downtown to the Riverwalk. We all took a boat ride to see all the lights! Super fun!

December Already????

Traditional picture of us standing in front of The Alamo!
I still can't believe it is December already. It seems like just yesterday was summer. (Well it always seems like Summer here in San Antonio). We have been having so much fun this month. Sophie loves Christmas time. She LOVES lights. She is going to have a tough time when I take down the Christmas tree that is in her room. On Monday for family home evening we went downtown to The Riverwalk. It was the perfect time to go. The weather was pretty good and it was not crowded at all. We were able to walk right up to the first restaurant we went to and was immediatly seated on the river. Sophie loved watching the boats go by and watching the ducks. She especially enjoyed looking at all the LIGHTS!!!!! It is very beautiful at Christmas time downtown! Also on monday was playschool at our house. Sophie had a hard time sharing her toys, but overall it was a lot of fun. The shape for the day was Circle so I incorporated Snowmen with it. We sang some snowman songs, read snowman stories, and made a snowman craft. Then for the circles we had circle cheese, circle crackers, and circle cookies. Sophie now knows circle and snowman pretty well. On Saturday night we swapped with the Jessops babysitting and were able to go on a date to Travis' group party from school. It was soooo goood. I think it was so good because we didn't have Sophie to handle in the restaurant.
This is a random picture however it has much meaning behind it! Our little Sophster is a very picky eater. So lately I try about anything to get her to eat. So, on this day it was the glasses that did the trick! Once I put her glasses on she cleared her tray!
GUESS WHAT?????? IT SNOWED IN SAN ANTONIO LAST NIGHT! I HAVE PROOF ON OUR VIDEO CAMERA. WE TOOK SOME STILL PICTURES, BUT I WAS SPORTING MY FLANNEL PJ'S AND WAS LOOKING PRETTY SCARY! I LOOKED OUTSIDE AROUND 12:30 AT NIGHT AND MIXED IN WITH THE RAIN WAS LITTLE SNOWFLAKES FLURRYING AROUND. I KNOW SOME MAY THINK IT WAS SLEET BUT HONEST IT WAS SNOW...I EVEN CAUGHT SOME AND ATE IT! IT WAS FUN TO SEE THE SNOWFLAKES DROP MUCH SLOWER THAN THE RAIN. FUN NIGHT!

Sophie's 18 Month Pictures

Here are Sophie's 18 month pictures I got back today! I was very pleased how they turned out considering Sophie was not a happy camper that night with getting her picture taken! I still can't believe she is 18 months. Where does the time go? Oh I just love our little girl!!!!

Busy Busy Busy Fun Fun Fun

We've been pretty busy the past week or so! Busy with lots and lots of fun! With movies, cakes, crafts, pictures and more there wasn't a dull moment in our lives last week!

TWILIGHT Movie Before Party at Applebees! A bunch of us girlies met around 9:00 pm at Applebees for appetizers before the big movie night! It was a lot of un with the exception of the smoke that was escaping the bar area. Then we went over to the movie theater to watch the anticipated midnight showing of the "TWILIGHT" movie. Now, I have to be honest I am not a Super Fan that goes bonkers but I will say I enjoyed the book as well as loved the movie. I have only read the 1st book and now will start book 2 since they are going to film another movie! It was so much fun going to the movie! We had around 16 girls total that met and sat together! Fun Night!

BARBIE cake fun! This was so much fun to make. I have not made a cake in a while, so this was so much fun to complete. My friend Kristin asked if I would make her daughter a Barbie Birthday cake for her Barbie party last Saturday. I made some Royal Icing flowers a couple nights before (that I will also be using on a baby girl shower cake in a week). The I made a chocolate 10" round to give the cake more height as well as more cake to serve. The Barbie dress was white cake (my personal favorite). I had sooooo much fun making this cake. While making it I think I have Sophie's next 4 birthdays all planned out (at least I was thinking about it!) Watch her not want a princess party...I'll be so sad! :)

SOPHIE SATURDAYS! This is Sophie and Daddy's favorite day of the week! WHy? Because Sophie loves to crawl into bed with daddy in the morning and drink her milk! The hard part is come Monday morning she is devestated when she goes in our room and he is gone! I have to listen to "da-da, da-da, da-da, wahhhh" Oh well its pretty special how cute they are together! She loves her daddy soooo much and Daddy is head over heels about his lil Sophster!

FEEDING THE BOERNE DUCKS! On Monday Sophie, Marco, Vanessa, and I went to Boerne and fed the ducks. Sophie had so much fun. She didn't want to leave! She kept saying ducks, ducks, ducks all the way home!

Crafty Clique November Projects! This was so much fun! I made some Christmas and January Blocks! The host cut us blocks for 10 cents each for however many we wanted and then we painted them. Then instead of using vinyl lettering I used letters punched from a Cricut machine. Then after I painted all the blocks I stained the edges. Then added the letters with Modge Podge...I love that stuff! What did I do all these years without knowing it existed? I think I will continue these fun projects for other holidays!

Big Girl!

~OUR BIG LITTLE GIRL!~
Sophie is getting so big. She turned 18 months on the 8th and is now in Nursery. She was sick her first day of Nursery, but was able to go this week. She looked so cute all dressed up for her big day! Then today was her first day of playschool. She goes 2 times a week with little girls her same age for fun, music, crafts, snacks, and of course lots of play! She is talking so much more. Some of her new favorite words are NAP, APPLES, TRACTOR, SNACK and HELLO (especially when she picks up anything that looks like a phone).
The first Saturday of November was Super Saturday at church. Here are some of my creations! It was the 1st Super Saturday I have ever been to! So Fun!

Halloween WEEK 2008

HAPPY HALLOWEEN 2008
WARD TRUNK or TREAT Party!
We had a lot of fun at the ward trunk or treat party. My good friend Vanessa and her little boy Marco came. We played games, ate food, and we chased Sophie around. I love the pictures of them holding hands to go outside and trunk or treat.
PUMPKIN PATCH!
I had been wanting to take Sophie to a pumpkin patch since she fell in love with Pumpkins this Halloween. So I did it! We went to a little church in Helotes and walked around the pumpkin patch taking lots of pictures and looking for the smallest pumpkin we could buy.
PUMPKIN CARVING!
Pumpkin carving is officiallly our family tradition. We have done it now 3 years in row, so I guess that makes it a tradition. Sophie loves pumpkins....just doesn't like carving them or at least touching the inside goop. Below are the final products. Sophie loved her pumpkin she picked out at the Pumpkin patch earlier in the day!
LIBRARY HALLOWEEN STORYTIME AND
GYM HALLOWEEN PARTY
We started off Halloween morning by going to the Library for 'Halloween Storytime.' We sang songs, made crafts, and went trick-or-treating. Then we headed over to the gym for some more fun. While mom was working out Sophie played with her friends who were all dressed in thier costumes. This is a picture of her buddy she plays with everyday at the gym. TRICK-OR-TREATING!
Sophie actually loved trick or treating. We went with our neighbor across the street Sophia who is 3. Sophie was running up to the doors and knocking just like a big girl! I had to run in after her at some houses...She hasn't quite learned not to just walk inside someones house. It was a great night!

Halloween Fun!

The TOOTH-FAIRY!
I love Halloween, not so much for the 'scary' stuff, but for the pumpkins or punkins as Sophie would say and the parties and treats. So, last Friday we found Sophie a babysitter and attended a couples costume party. The Wood family in our ward hosted a fabulous Halloween party. It was an amazing party. The food displays were top knotch, not to mention delicious. Chelsea, Kristin, and Melissa went way out to make the evening a hit. I am going to post a link to my friend Chelsea's blog. She really gives Martha Stewart a run for her money. Here you can see everything about the party in more detail. If anyone is planning a party you must see it! (LIFE FROSTING). Well, like I said it was a costume party, so once I found out I wasn't having surgery this week I knew we could go. So, on Wednesday I finally came up with an idea for our costumes. Keep in mind I have a husband who wasn't too excited about dressing up. So, I came up with a Tooth+Fairy=ToothFairy costume idea. So, I made the costumes on Thursday and Friday was the party. We seriously had so much fun. Thank you Wood, Weathers, and Murray Families!!!
We even were able to participate in the donut eating contest. We passed on the bobbing for apples, but I can't pass up a donut!!!! Travis claims he beat me, but I have to disagree. His fell off the string and he picked it up and kept going. My donut stayed on the string. So, I think I'm the true winner! :) We like to tease eachother about it! Yes, we are still competitive when playing games against eachother.

We won the the "Most Creative" costume prize! We have been devouring Jelly Belly's everynight since. Plus, isn't this the cutest jar! Like I said the whole party was super creative!

SEA WORLD SPOOKTACULAR!

On Saturday night we ran over to Sea World for about 2 hours for a night full of fun. We looked at pumpkins, danced to music, and watched Sophie push another girl down in the sand box. (If anyone has some ideas on how to get a 17 month old to stop hitting please feel free to give me advice, I'm desperate!) We ended the night with the Jack is Back Shamu show. Sophie would get so excited when the whales would jump out of the water. On the way home we stopped at H-E-B (grocery store) and grabbed some food and of course a balloon! Then Sophie crashed in the car! (She never let go of the balloon even when she fell asleep)
