Christmas Fun #2 - UIW Lighting the Way

"Lighting the Way" - University of Incarnate Word
We met up with the Marelli Family for the University of Incarnate Word "Lighting the Way" ceremony. We started the night off by watching a parade and eating pizza. Then we walked over to the University for the Lighting ceremony. They have every tree on campus covered in lights. It was beautiful! Sophie loved holding the candle. Travis kept a good watch over her with the candle. After they turned on the lights we all walked holding the candles over to the HEB Central Market for free hot chocolate and cookies. It was such a fun night, with the exception of some one who is not very nice sprayed pepper spray and so as the 100's of people came walking around a corner by the school we all stared coughing, even little Tanner. I was so mad...but I didn't let it ruin our fun night. Thanks Marelli's for another fun filled evening!

Christmas Already???? Christmas Fun #1 - Sea World

Sea World Christmas Sneak Peek Preview Night!

Well this is Sophie dancing away to Sesame Street...the only problem was is that her pants kept creeping down, so not only did the audience get to see the show..they also got a sneak peek at her plumbers crack.
Since we are season pass holders we were invited to a special sneak preview of the Sea World Christmas Event. It had been raining all day Friday, but I was determined we would go anyway. When Travis got home he looked at me like I was crazy, but being the super great husband he is he just went along with it. We all got bundled up and drove to sea world. The park opened at 7pm and we got there right when it opened. We were able to see the Polar Express 4D show they have, The Sea Lion Christmas show, I got to ride the roller coaster (the front car...it was awesome), the Sesame Street Christmas show, and the Shamu Christmas Miracle show. One of the workers told me they were projecting about 350 people to show up and he heard only about 150 showed up. So, basically we had the park to ourself. We were able to see the 4 shows they were showing that night and left the park when it closed at 10. The rain stopped right when we got to Sea world so it ended up being a wonderful and fun evening.

Spurs Game

I have lived here in San Antonio now 4 1/2 years and had not yet gone to a Spurs game. So, Travis got some tickets from school and I finally got to go. We dropped Sophie and Tanner off at our friends house and then went to the game. Although we were in the nose-bleed section...which actually took my breath away (not in a good way)...we still had a fun time. Along with our tickets we got wristbands where we could get all you can eat nachos, hotdogs, peanuts, popcorn, and drinks. We had so much fun even though the Spurs lost.

Family Movie Night

We have started a new family tradition of watching a movie as a family on Friday nights. Sophie loves it because we get to have "Root Juice", popcorn, and candy. We also pump up our air mattress and bring out lots of pillows and blankets to lay on. This particular movie night we had guests. Travis and I did a swap for date night with our friends. They have 3 adorable boys. Sophie says she is going to marry the younger one. He is her little buddy! Fun times. The weekend before that Travis, Sophie, and I had a slumber party after the movie and all slept on the air mattress. I think I will pass on the slumber party next time. Fun but not comfy!

Our Little Jumping Machine

Tanner is our little jumping machine. He loves his Jumper so much. He will jump and jump while giggling. I seriously can't get enough of him! He is such a sweetie. I am one lucky mommy to get to be with him 24-7!

Halloween Fun #11 & #12

#11- Michael's Craft Day and Pumpkin Pancakes
So we started off our Halloween Day with a trip to the Pediatrician for the H1N1 mist for Sophie. I was a little taken by surprise when the nurse says, "Now make sure she doesn't rub her nose, or sneeze...if she does clean her hands really well, its a live vaccine. Oh, and keep her away from the baby for at least an hour." Do you really think a two year old will not touch their nose when told not to...yeah right. Within minutes she was rubbing her nose and as we walked out of the office she sneezes. I did what the nurse said however and cleaned her off with wipes and then hand sanitizer. Then we went on over to Michaels Craft store for some fun Halloween crafts. The kids each got a really neat Halloween bucket to put their creations in. Then we came home for some of daddy's halloween pancakes. Then we all took a nap!
#12- Halloween Night
#12- Trick-Or-Treating with the Marelli's....in style! (We all piled on their golf cart and went trick or treating. We carved a pumpkin first and ate pizza that was shaped like a pumpkin!
We love spending time with the Marelli's. They are such a fun family and are such great people. We are going to miss them sooo much when we move.

Halloween Fun #10

#10 - Adult Halloween Costume Party

Travis and I went as M&M's! Plain and Peanut! We had lots of fun...Travis was once again a great sport for dressing up! We had a great time on a date without the kiddos! We had a babysitter who also brought her friend, so the kids were well taken care of. Sophie thought she was having another party!

Travis competing in the "Donut on the String" game!

"Mmmmm, which is the smallest apple!"

Time to play the "Bobbing for Apples Game"...so I joked and said I would go first....thinking to myself that if I were to actually participate, I would want to go first, so I wouldn't have to put my face in a bowl of water with everyone else's germs...or swine flu germs :) And next thing I know I was up first against one of my friends. Immediately I started thinking strategy and well it actually worked...take a look above!

The "Good Sport" Husbands...this was just a few of the many more guys who dressed up!

Some of the girls!

Halloween Fun #9

#9- Halloween Party at Sunshine Cottage
Since we are part of the Parent Infant Program at Sunshine Cottage we were invited to the "My Family and Me" Halloween party. Sophie was invited to come along with Tanner and me. We had so much fun. Lots of fun activities, that all had great Language strategies as well. What an amazing program we get to be a part of. Sweet little Tanner is so loved there and is so well taken care of by his advisor, audiologists, and everyone else. If we move away I will miss Sunshine Cottage so much.

And yes you may wonder why I have the same black Halloween shirt on in every picture....don't worry I washed it quite a bit during that special Halloween week! I got smarter this year after Halloween and bought a couple of Halloween shirts on super clearance for next year.....so I will not be wearing the same outfit at all of our fun Halloween events!

Halloween Fun #7 and #8

#7- Gym Halloween Dress-up Day!This year was so much fun dressing up and going to the gym. The kids had a great time....I so did I! I got an hour of my favorite gym class...with no kids to worry about! They had a little party while I worked out!

Fun #8- PUMPKIN PATCH

BEST BUDDIES!

Halloween wouldn't be Halloween if we didn't go to a Pumpkin Patch! Since the pumpkin patch was right up the road from the gym I decided we would do all in one day...since the kids were already dressed up! So we went and had so much fun touching and picking up pumpkins. They each got a mini-pumpkin to take home when we were done.

Yeah, pretty much just chillin' with the Pumpkins!

Our cute Lil Pumpkin!

He really liked this pumpkin!

Halloween Fun #6

TRUNK-OR-TREAT 2009

with Lil' Monster & Lil' Witch

This year was so much fun at Trunk or Treat. We invited the Marelli family to come with us and that made is so fun. Marco and Sophie are best buddies! His Spiderman costume was great! They played lots of games and got lots of candy!! Little Tann Tann was such a good sport, he is getting to where he acts like he wants to eat whatever you are eating...but he is still too little! I felt bad not giving him a sucker or something.
