Super Late Easter Pics...but still fun to look at!

HAPPY EASTER!

SOPHIE and Her matching Baby Doll! Easter was so much fun this year, my mom was in town and it was so much fun having our new little Tanner! We started the Easter festivities out at the our ward Easter Social on Friday night with a yummy Ham dinner and Sophie's 1st Easter egg hunt where she realized what was going on. Then on Saturday we went to our Neighborhood Easter Egg hunt. It was so much fun...she gathered so many eggs, which was great because I just re-used the eggs for her egg hunt the next day at our house. Then after the egg hunt we went in the clubhouse for cupcake decorating, coloring, and treats. I was pretty impressed with our Home Owners Association for putting on such a fun filled morning. Then that evening we decorated Eggs. I had to laugh because my mom said she never let us decorate eggs because of the hassle and mess...so I could sort of tell she was wondering why I wanted to bother...but being the good sport she is she jumped right in and actually loved dying eggs and I have to agree! Then on Easter morning Sophie and Tanner got their baskets and then we were off to church for the 1st time since Tanner was born. I had Sharing Time and of course I wanted Sophie to get to wear her Easter dress.

Family Update!

He's saying "I LOVE YOU!" or something else if you're a Longhorn fan!

So I know its been forever since I have updated my blog...but hey I didn't realize having 2 kids would be this hard! So worth it but definately hard...I can't imagine what it will be like when we have 3! Anyway I'll start from the beginning...So during the middle of March my doctor said Tanner was not measuring like he should so after a couple of sonagrams she decided to take him 3 weeks early. On Monday March 24th he was measuring 5 lb 11 oz and had so irregular heart beats so she felt it would be best to take him on Friday. So, I finished up my last minute to-do's, cleaned my house, grocery shopped, and hosted playgroup on Thursday just in time for Travis' parents to fly in that night to help with Sophie. Friday morning at 4 am I called to hospital to make sure they had room for me and they did so we were off to the hospital at 5am. Once again this pregnancy I was able to shower, dry my hair, do my hair and put on makeup since I was getting induced. So I have no idea what it feels like to go into labor on my own. I'm sure I'll get another chance. We arrived to the hospital and they began the whole induction process. Then around 9:30 am my doctor came to do her business and that is when I specifically said I wanted my epidural right after she was finished doing what she needed to do. However an hour past and then another hour past....I finally called for my nurse and said "when do I get my epidural?" she said oh are you ready...."Um yeah I've been ready since 9:30...by this time the contractions were 1 1/2 minutes apart and were super painful...in fact they got so strong I told Travis not to talk to me or try to make me laugh....nothing he could do would make me feel better. Finally around noon the Anethesiologist came in and gave me my epidural.....OHHHHH he was like my superhero! I felt sooo much better. 1 o'clock came...2 o'clock came and went....still only at a 5, I began to get a little frustrated, not to mention Tanner's heartbeat kept dropping a lot with every contraction which made me worry. So, I couldn't rest nor would I let Travis rest because I was so nervous about his heartbeat. Then around 4:00 I called for my nurse and she didn't come...so at 4:30 I called for her again and she finally came in around 4:40...I told her my epidural had worn off and that I was feeling a lot of pressure and pain...She checked me and well Tanner was literally delivering himself. Luckily the Doctor had just got there and immediately called for delivery nurses to hurry and set up. Then she had me push once and said wait..since she wasn't even gowned up yet nor were the other nurses ready...Then finally I pushed 2 more times and he was born....with lots of brown hair..which was a super big surprise. Then the biggest surprise was his weight...The Doctor even said are you sure to the nurses he measured 7 lbs. So she told my in-laws the sonogram must have been way off. I was super surprised..I thought he would be like 6 lbs 2 oz..good thing he was born 3 weeks early...he maybe would have been a 8 or 9 pounder. Besides me throwing up after and being super tired because of the nausea medicine they gave me everything went well. I feel so blessed to have a sweet little boy. So, now 3 weeks later, no in-laws here to help, I finally have a taste of what its like to be a mother of two kiddos. I've found I'm lucky to get a shower, lucky to get more than 2-3 hours of sleep at a time, and lucky to have a chance to do something for myself. But all in all it is so worth it. So, take a minute and enjoy these fun pictures!
Grandpa and Grandma Baldwin were such a big help!

Getting ready to come home from the hospital!

Sophie grew up all in one day! I went to the hospital still thinking of her as a baby...but came home thinking she is a BIG GIRL! This picture says it all!

*These pictures were all in the 1st week....when I get another free minute which may be next month...I'll show more updated pictures!
