Picture Day!

A couple of weeks ago we went and had family/birthday pictures done. Our appointment was scheduled for 4pm and we didn't start until 5pm. So....Lil Sophie was well you know...not very happy (it was way past nap time). We were happy how they all turned out.

Trip to the Gulf

So, last Tuesday we headed to Padre Island in Corpus Christi with the Jessop's. We had so much fun. I think the pictures definately show how much fun we had. I have to give a big cheer for Melissa! What a trooper. She is nearly full term and still looked adorable at the beach. Travis had a good time hanging out with Tim as you can see them playing a game of Horseshoes....I think everytime they get together they have to compete at something. :) And of course Sophie and Dylan. Sophie loves her buddy Dylan. Dylan is such a good sport playing with her, even though she is much younger. We had such a great time. I was going to post another picture...But I didn't want to offend anyone....No joke there was a guy around 70 years old wearing a g-string, not a thong, but a for real g-string at the beach. He pranced up and down the beach all day long. We laughed so hard! Good times!

Sophie's Birthday

I think we celebrated Sophie's birthday all week long! We had a play group party at the park on her birthday. The kids had so much fun drawing with the sidewalk chalk. Sophie jumped or more like crawled right in with the big kids to draw. Then that evening Travis and I took her out the Red Robin for dinner. She didn't quite know what to think about the singing, but she loved the ice-cream sundae. (We even let her lick it off the table...shame on us...bad parents...but it was so funny...I had wiped the table before :) Then on Saturday afternoon we had some of our friends from Dental school over to have cake and ice-cream and let her open all her presents. She is so loved by many. We are so blessed to have made such wonderful friends here in San Antonio. We will be very sad when we move. I'd have to say Sophie's Birthday Week was a huge success! We love you Sophie Rae Baldwin!

Cakes, BBQ's, and Garage Sales!

So last week was pretty full of girls night outs and baby showers. We kept pretty busy just keeping up with the week! Thursday night we went to a Dental School BBQ that was geared towards families (kids) but I soon found out that all adults are still kids inside! Travis said "Sophie is having so much fun" and I replied "I think you are having even more fun". We both had a great time playing on all the bouncy equipment.

Sophie and Dylan playing in the bouncy houseThen late that night after Sophie went to bed I went over to my friend Kim's house to decorate her little boys CARS cake. This was officially the first character cake I decorated...It was so much fun talking and decorating. Last but not least....Saturday was serious Garage Sales day. Every neighborhood around was having thier annual garage sales. So we started around 9:45 and didn't officially end until 2:30. I got some amazing deals. When getting home and looking up the real prices for the items I got I was amazed at what good deals you can get at a garage sale. The highlight of the day was Sophie's bed. Earlier in the day I had asked how much they wanted for the headboard/frames and they said $10. I left and thought I would check back later in the day. So a couple hours later I stopped by and offered them $5.00. They said $8. I left and thought I would check back later. Well around 2:15, I was on my way home and noticed they had cleaned up thier sale all except for some stuff by the curb. So I drove up and to my excitement was a big poster saying "FREE"....They lady laughed and said "looks like you got your bed". Well not only did we pick up the bed...we picked up a table and computer monitor for free as well.
Yeah for Free Bed!!

FIESTA SAN ANTONIO

San Antonio has a fun community tradition every April. It is called FIESTA! It is a two week long celebration filled with tons of programs, activitites, parades, and lots of parties. We decided to give it try last friday. Travis didn't have school...because of Fiesta, so we went to "The Battle of Flowers" parade. We had awesome seats (on the street sitting on a blanket under a baracade fence). We got there around 11:00...however the parade didn't get to where we were until around 12:45. It was a typical parade, except no candy (bummer). Sophie was decked out in her Fiesta attire. We had a great day downtown.

Fun Fun Fun and More Fun

We have been pretty busy around the Baldwin home lately. We've been enjoying the warm Texas spring weather and keeping busy! Here is just a little look at what we've been up to! For Sophie...she is getting so big. She is starting to talk or what sounds like real words like; duck, dad, kitty, and mama. She loves to make funny noises with her mouth as well. Still only 2 teeth and not much of an interest in walking but I'm sure when she's ready there will be no stopping her.

This is my cake I made at CraftyClique which is a group of girls who get together once a month and learn how to make something fun! My ward was lucky enough to be invited by 2 other wards to join up with them. I have loved getting to know more friends. They are all super crafty girls and not to mention lots of fun! On Thursday I spent the evening making Sophie's Birthday cards. We are inviting Grandpa's and Grandma's but unfortunately I don't think they'll make it. So, we are having a get together with some of Travis' dental friends and having a combined birthday/end of year dental get together. So don't feel bad if you don't get one of these cards. Sophie and I are going to have some of my friends over on her birthday for cake and ice-cream during the day!
These pictures I couldn't resist...So I was doing laundry and I heard Sophie start playing her piano so I peeked around the corner and she had pushed her car over to her piano and sat down to play...At that moment I knew Sophie will be a piano player unlike her mommy!
On Friday Sophie and I went to Sea World for a play date. She loved every minute of it. She threw a fit over at the dolphin pool because she wanted to get in with them. She loved the Coral Reef...She kept trying to touch the fish (too bad there is thick glass). Then we went to the Shamu show and she clapped the whole time. Last but not least her favorite. The big play area for toddlers. Lots of soft toys for her to climb on.
Then on Friday night Travis and I spent the evening getting ready for the Baby Shower I was hosting the next day. He is quite the cake decorator. He did a woderful job on the cake not to mention a huge help! I'm a lucky gal!
