Tanner's Blessing and Sophie's Birthday Party

Sunday, May 24, 2009 - Tanner's Blessing Day
What a special day this was. Travis was able to bless Tanner at church along with some of his family members and friends. Our little Tanner is such a sweet baby. He is my bundle of joy. His calm natured personality is such a reward. People always told me that a bond between a mother and their son is like non other and I never could understand them. Now I completely know what they mean. Although he cannot speak at me I feel such a special bond between us. We love you Tanner Travis Baldwin. Thank you for being such a special little boy! He is growing so big. In fact he was actually busting out of his blessing outfit. We couldn't button the back nor the bottom. He is 2 months old and is already in 3-6 month clothing and some 6-9 month onesies. After church we went home and had a lunch with the usual Ham, Potato casserole, rolls, salad, and a yummy vegi tray with Melissa's amazing dill dip! (Thanks again Melissa for all your help!!!) Thank you Mom and Joan for all your help preparing food!!

Sophie's ELMO Birthday Party!!!!

Since Sophie never gets to see her cousins and grandparents very often I thought it would be fun to celebrate her birthday with them. We had an ELMO birthday party per request of Sophie after the blessing lunch. So, I made her an ELMO tutu, we had an ELMO cake, white dipped strawberries, ELMO juice boxes, watermelon, "DOROTHY" Goldfish crackers, and played pin the nose on ELMO. We ended the party with everyone's favorite....A PINATA! Even the adults participated in the pinata event. It was so fun to see Sophie enjoy spending time with friends and relatives. As I look back at these fun pictures I remind myself how blessed we are to have such great people in our lives!

Graduation Day!

Saturday, May 23, 2009
We went downtown to see the Alamo in the morning and then went to Travis' Graduation that afternoon. I am so proud of Travis and all of his hard work. He is the hardest working person I know. I was so proud watching him walk across the stage to receive his degree which he worked so hard for. The counless hours of studying, lack of sleep, 2 children, nagging wife, and difficult tests never seem to get him down. He always kept a smile on his face. I love you Travis and I am so proud of your wonderful accomplishment. How wonderful it was so share this special day with so many family members from Travis' side as well as my side of family. We ended the day with an adult date night without the kiddos. I hired a babysitter to watch the 9 kids while all the adults went to a yummy restaurant called Chama Gaucha, a brazilian meat restaurant. (some fun pictures of that night to come)

Congratulations Travis!

RUDY'S Graduation Party - May 22, 2009
So, this is just one of many posts that will be posted in the next coming days. This past week and 1/2 has been full of lots of fun and exciting events for our family. So, I thought instead of doing one massive post I would just post 1 day at a time. So, I thought I would start with Travis' graduation party at Rudy's. Last Friday we all met at Rudy's to celebrate Travis' graduation. Most of the family went to Sea World during the day. I had so much fun making his "molar cake". Congrats Trav!

Happy 2nd Birthday Sophie Rae!

I can't believe it, yes Sophie turned 2! We celebrated her birthday at park day and then with our little family. She gets to have a birthday party when all her cousins and grandparents come next weekend. She is getting so big. She is starting to potty train little by little. She went potty 3 days ago (may 14) and has gone once or twice a day since then. I bought a M&M candy machine at Walgreens and when she goes she gets 'money' which she loves and then gets to put it in the candy machine for some jelly beans which she loves. I told her we can buy a prize with all the money she saves in the candy machine. In fact I just sat down again to type...I was interupted by Sophie saying she needed to go potty...and yeah she really went! Lately her favorite song to sing is her ABC's. She says them all plus the "will you sing with me after". Last night we had to go tell her to stop singing and go to bed. Yes, she still loves ELMO. A while back she went in Tanner's room and sat on the rocking chair to "feed Elmo". She was feeding him like how mommy feeds Tanner. She is all about Daddy lately. She literally is his shadow. Everywhere daddy goes Sophie goes!

Sophie and her friend Aaron have birthdays 5 days apart, born the same year so they celebrated their special days at Park Day.

One great thing about living in San Antonio is having Sea World 15 minutes away. So for her birthday we took her to Sea World for 2 hours.

Birthday Dinner at Red Robin!

We opened presents and had cupcakes just together as our little family!

Class of 2009 Gala

Couldn't resist posting this picture! Classic date night picture of parents!

OUR FUN NIGHT!!!!!
Travis is officially done with Dental school. Last night was the class of 2009 Gala where they received their white coats and yearbooks. We had so much fun dressing up and going on a date without 'kiddos'. It was at the Alamodome. They had a casino, dinner, and music. Travis wasn't super excited to go to the Gala at first...but I had to force him out of there around midnight so we could get home to our babysitter (SPECIAL THANK YOU TO MELISSA JESSOP FOR WATCHING OUR KIDS). It was so fun to see him and all of his friends having a good time. Then with the chips won at the casino they did a raffle for giftcards, etc. We won a giftcard to Las Palapas.
Travis didn't leave the table until the last hand was dealt!
He received his white coat tonight as well! I am so proud of Travis and all of his hard work. I know its been a long road and very stressful, but I am so impressed by all of his accomplishments. He graduates on May 23rd, which will be so special! I can officially call him Dr. Baldwin...which I won't because it just sounds silly! It makes him seem old...but then again its already our 10 year class reunion this year, so I guess I better just face the fact that we are getting older! I still think of us as 16 year olds dating in high school. It was super fun to go on our date last night. It was funny because Travis said, "it seems like when I picked you up for Junior Prom," and my reply was "yeah, except now we have 2 car seats in the backseat" I loved him at Junior Prom and I loved him last night at the Gala and I still love him today!
