Roller Skating Girls Night

There is a reason we were about the only adults there on $5 rollerskate night. If you fall you will get hurt. I guess I still feel like I'm a kid but the only problem is my body doesn't agree. So, we went Roller Skating for a fun girls night out and things were going great until two of my friends (they will remain nameless) decided to grab each of my hands and start skating...Well of course I lost my balance and fell on my knee...yeah I jump right up acting like nothing was wrong..but really I wanted to cry inside. It hurt sooooo bad. Well its nearly a month later and all though the bruising went away....my knee is still numb when I push on the spot I hit...Travis says its just nerve damage. I can walk fine and workout...its just feels weird! So, my advice to all you mom's out there you may want to reconsider roller skating!

It's been too long since I've posted!

Primary "Meet Your Teacher Lunch" and "Articles of Faith Ice-Cream Party"

I guess its because I love looking at Tann Tann's 9 month pictures...however he'll be 1 year next month so its time to update the blog! We had many exciting adventures in January. On January 2nd I had a primary activity that I was in charge of. It was the "Meet your Teacher Lunch" along with the Articles of Faith Ice Cream party. It turned out super fun with a great turn out of children. I was very appreciative to my counselors, secretary, teachers and of course Travis for all their help.

NEW YEARS FUN AT THE MARELLI'S

Then that night we went over to the Marelli's house for some more New Year's fun! Sophie got to hold a sparkler for the 1st time. Soph and Marco are best buddies! Vanessa and Mike are so much fun to hang out with!
YEAH for MLK day!

Daddy had MLK day off in January. So, you know me I had the day planned out...(Travis hates that I always have an agenda...he would rather relax) but I explain to him that our children need adventures to make them well rounded. San Antonio is great for bike trails, walking trails, and parks. A long walking/bike trail goes by our house is nearly 4 miles long. So, we dropped one car off at the end of the trail, and then drove to the beginning (so we wouldn't have to go double) and spent over an hour walking/running/playing on the trail. Daddy found a golf ball that became the hit of the adventure. We spent time chasing the ball and kicking the ball!

Leaves and Artwork

Earlier this month Sophie and Daddy spent a lot of time raking up leaves. They (well Sophie) had so much fun....I don't know how much fun Daddy had raking leaves...but I know he had fun having a little buddy outside to help him. Every once in a while I would look out the window and see him tossing her into the leaf pile. I can't remember why I wasn't out there helping, but it was something worthwhile...I think I was making homemade Strawberry jam or something like that. Plus, it was some good Daddy/Daughter bonding time.

Sophie is quit the little artist. She has been ever since she figured out what a crayon was. I never had to worry about her eating crayons because she was always too interested in coloring. She loves to 'color in the lines' she tells me and then sometimes she tells me "I just felt like scribbling". Since I am not scrapbooking and not keeping all of the art projects she has done here are just a few to keep for memories.

Sophie 28 months (September 2009) also working on writing the letter 'D'...the 3 on the right.

Sophie 30 months (November)

She loves to color when she goes to the gym....thats how I get her excited about going to the gym!!!

Happy New Year!

We spent New Year's Eve at Sea World this year. It was so much fun. Our passes were expiring and since we may not be getting new ones since we are moving we decided we'd spend most of the day there. Sophie rode lots of rides, we saw lots of shows...well all of them...and then finished the evening off with a concert and firework show. Celebrating the New Year at 8pm was perfect for our family! This year is going to be an exciting and eventful one. With lots of changes coming our way. I feel its going to be our best year yet!

Sophie Playing

I love to watch and listen to Sophie when she is playing. She is really starting to use her imagination. Pretend play is so much fun! Here is Sophie playing in her new "Market" she got for Christmas. She loves to call her friends on her pretend phone too! This was Sophie calling her friend Elizabeth. She loves to have us order food through the window and give her money to put in her cash register. Should I be scared when she asks, "Mom, where is my credit card?" Then I had it to her and she swipes it! Ahhhh! Not to mention today in the car she says to me, "Where is my phone? I need to text someone"....What? I don't even text...we don't even have texting on our phone plan and all my friends know not to text me because it costs me 20 cents. Where in the world did she learn about texting!

Christmas Day 2009

We woke up around 8 am Christmas morning and saw that Santa had come to our house! Tanner was already up, so we waited for Sophie to wake up. She woke up in a bad mood so we just waited in her room until she was ready to come out to see what Santa brought. She finally woke up completely enough to realize Santa really must have brought her presents. So we opened the door from her room and she took off running with a smile from ear to ear. Tanner got excited too, since Sissy was so excited. What a fun and relaxing day! We played lots of games, took 3 hour naps, and played more games!!! I loved this Christmas so much!

This was Sophie opening the "Little Mermaid Barbie" she had been asking Santa for all Christmas!!!!! She sleeps with Sophie every night!

Tanner got a lot of Playskool toys with the balls!
Sophie, Tanner, and I got Daddy the game 'Operation' to see how good his hand skills are!
